This is unusual, most of the time, UFO sightings happen in the US followed by a collective howling of “aliens” by some conspiracy theorists. However, this time around, a UFO may actually have been sighted in Europe. Apparently, said unknown object even grabbed the attention of authorities in Ireland and the country is now investigating the matter.

During one early morning over County Kerry, UK, a British Airways pilot flying from Montreal to Heathrow called Shannon Air Traffic Control. The pilot can be heard asking traffic control whether there was a military exercise going on in the area. That is because an unknown object apparently came up alongside the airplane before vanishing at a very high speed. But then, traffic control confirmed that the radars were clear.

The said pilot even described how the object appeared saying it was “a bright light and then it disappeared at a very high-speed.” To make matter more alarming for the airlines, two other faraway airplanes in the UK also spotted the same bright object. One of the pilots suggested that it could have been space debris, another said the speed at which it flew was “astronomical, it was like Mach 2,” twice the speed of sound.

Whatever it is, the Irish Aviation Authority is now investigating it. They did keep things under wraps and information was sparse on the matter, “Following reports from a small number of aircraft on Friday 9th November of unusual air activity the IAA has filed a report. This report will be investigated under the normal confidential occurrence investigation process.” Probably aliens, man.
