Most of the time, mice and rats are up to no good. They are even considered pests in most urban and even rural settings because they eat, destroy, and make everything dirty. Suffice to say, they have probably viewed human beings as threats. However, one lucky mouse family from the United Kingdom might have hit the jackpot when they chose to live in a garden of a kind man who even built them their own village.
Simon Dell is a wildlife photographer who lives in Sheffield, U.K. One day when he was by his garden, he came upon mice and wanted to deal with them. Any other house owner would have called the exterminators, however, Simon thought of a more humane way to deal with the mouse family, he built them a magical mini mansion/village.
“Being a keen wildlife photographer, I am often taking photos of birds on the feeders in the garden. Then one day, I looked down to see a very cute little house mouse standing up in the grass,” said Simon.
Knowing there are cats just over the fence I thought I would give them a little more safety, so collected some logs and made them a log pile home. The mice are very trusting and know I mean them no harm. I love nature so am happy to live alongside such cute creatures,” added Simon.
The result? Well, let’s just say that Mickey never had it this good. Simon also hoped that the mouse family would stick around, and they did. Simon built the house out of wood, stones, and some cute decorations. The only thing he asked in return, was some cute mouse snaps:
Seeing the photos, it is safe to assume that it was a win-win situation. No longer is the mouse family poor as a church mouse.
