Most millennials today grew up in a staple diet of junk food and processed meats with an occasional dash of McDonald’s. I know this because I am a millennial. While a lot of older generations missed such a daredevil childhood like that, there is no denying that what they ate was healthier. However, one old couple from the UK incorporated McDonald’s in their diet for 23 years. Here’s how they did not die.

83-year-old Tom Jones and his 82-year-old wife, Pauline claimed that they have been eating at McDonald’s for 23 years at least once each day. That means they have been spending as much as a third of their twilight years in McDonald’s. Health experts will surely shake their heads in disapproval since McDonald’s has been proven to be unhealthy. Tom and Pauline, however, insist otherwise.

The pensioner couple owes their fitness and health to their daily McDonald’s visits. The two even went as far as to state that it gave them a fit physique. Tom usually went for the Big Mac while Pauline tried different things on the menu depending on her mood. The two have been at it for so long that the branch they visited daily knew them well.

So how was that possible when billions of other people are becoming obese with McDonald’s? Well, actually, Tom and Pauline walk every single day to their favorite McDonald’s branch which is 2.5 miles away from their home. They go there starting at 8:30 a.m. for coffee then shop around the surrounding area, after which they would return to McDonald’s at 10 a.m. for a snack. Lots of walking there.

“I just want to say that all this nonsense about McDonald’s making you fat is rubbish. Look at us!” said Tom. He did add that he and Pauline regularly exercised on top of their McDonald’s routine.
