Millionaire Offers $315,000 & Farm Business To Man Who Will Marry His Daughter

Shotgun weddings are a thing of the past these days and having someone marry your daughter with only the groom’s head intact as an incentive is not appealing anymore. So, fathers-in-law will need to up their game. One millionaire dad did and is now offering more than $315,000 and a whole farm business to whoever will marry his daughter.

58-year-old Arnon Rodthong is a multi-millionaire Thai businessman and farm owner. He made his bread (a huge loaf of bread) from a successful durian fruit farm he owns in Chumphon province, Thailand. Arnon also has a daughter, 26-year-old Karnsita, who also helps him run the family business.

Still, Arnon is quite ~~feudal~~ old-fashioned– he wants an heir… a male heir to his durian empire. So, instead of giving his multi-million dollar farm business to Karnsita, he will give it to the man who will marry his daughter instead, son-in-law, if you will. Additionally, Arnon is also offering the lucky groom-to-be 10 million Thai baht which amounts to $315,000.

“I want someone to take care of my business and make it last. I don’t want a person with a bachelor’s, or master’s or philosopher’s degree. I want a diligent man. I just want someone with a hard-working attitude. That’s all. As soon as I have an in-law, I will give up all my assets to him” explains Arnon.

However, that isn’t to say Arnon is without a male son. In fact, he has several, it’s just that he wants to give the empire to whoever will marry his daughter, Karnsita.

Regardless, Karnsita is fine with her father’s plans, “I first found out about my father’s post when my friends showed me. I was surprised but I can see the funny side to it, too.
