A blocked nose is the bane of good sleep or a functional physical state. Anyone who has ever experienced the affliction will surely not wish for anything else than for it to disappear. Hence, the thought of a 2-year-long blocked nose can be hard to fathom, but that’s exactly what happened to one man all because of a tooth growing inside his nostril.
The unfortunate anonymous individual was a 59-year-old man from Denmark. He has been suffering a blocked nose and other nasal problems including discharge and loss of smell for over two years. Hence, the Danish man sought medical help from experts, but the ENT doctors got a lot more than their job description requires– turns out, he had a tooth growing in his nose.
One would think that he should have been sent to a dentist, but the procedure required to remove the tooth in the man’s nostril could prove to be more delicate. So, the Danish man had the said tooth extracted in University Hospital Aarhus in the ear, nose and throat facility. How in the first place did he get a tooth in his nose? Facial trauma was most likely the culprit. Here’s the tooth:

Regardless, the surgery and tooth removal proved to be a success and the Danish man no longer has a blocked nose. Specialists do advise that anyone with a blocked nose need not worry that they might have a tooth in their nostril, as only 23 people with the exact same case have been identified since 1959, meaning the condition is rarer than hens’ teeth.
