January is nearly over and that only means the pressure of finding a date for that one damn day in February is mounting up. Unless you want to spend Valentine’s Day crying yourself to sleep– but hey, we’ve all been there. For that matter, you might want to take notes from one Japanese Man who found a way to alleviate his dating blues; by dating a cockroach. No one said you had to date humans exclusively… right?

Now, now, let’s not be quick to pass judgment, people can and do fall in love with non-humans too. Just take a look at guys and their cars, love is real.

However, for one Japanese Man named Shinohara Yuta, cockroaches are sexay. Because of Yuta’s profession as an entomophagist, he is also quite fond of insects. You see, in his line of work, Yuta finds and cooks edible insects as well as spread their appeal, they are healthier than normal food, after all.

Anyway, the Japanese man’s work and fascination with insects led him to extensively observe and interact with one cockroach. The two actually spent quite a long time in contact with each other that Yuta got attached to it… or rather, her since he called her Lisa. Here she is:

She’s quite curvy, wouldn’t you guys agree? The two dated for about a year but had to break up due to Lisa’s death. Turns out cockroaches have short lifespans.

This was heartbreaking for Yuta, so he ate Lisa… in reverence… yep, he is 100 percent serious with her. Now, Yuta believes that Lisa lives in his heart and is now a part of his body. Of course, there were times where Yuta also dreamed and imagined of doing “it” with Lisa. Still, he is also aware that it is physically impossible for human and cockroach to copulate. Here’s a feature about Yuta… if you’re interested.

So, next time you use Raid on that roach or try to squash it dead, maybe don’t. Who knows, you might find your one true love… for a year. Oh, and ladies, find a man who treats you like how this Japanese man treats his cockroach.
