Raising a child to be a proper human is never an easy task. It takes a village to raise those
One cold December day in Ohio, Matt Cox, the father in question, was informed by her 10-year-old daughter’s school that she was banned from the school bus for the second time this year. Apparently, his daughter bullied someone in the bus, again. So Matt agreed to take his daughter to school via car, but he thought of a better idea.
Instead of seating her beside him in the car, Matt let her daughter walk to school– the whole five miles while he drives slowly behind her to keep an eye. He even caught the whole thing on video and posted it online as a life lesson for her daughter and a way to deal with bullies:
“I know a lot of you parents are not going to agree with this, but that is all right because I’m doing what I feel is right to teach my daughter a lesson and to stop her from bullying,” said Matt. Turns out, a lot of parents agreed with him on that sort of punishment and consequence for bullying. It seems that actions do have more effect than “talking it out” with kids.
Matt did assure everyone that his daughter “still has all her extremities intact is happy and healthy and seems to have a new outlook on bullying as well as a new appreciation for some of the simple things in life she used to take for granted.” What do you think about Matt’s punishment though? Feel free to discuss in the comments.
