Facebook Engagement Up 896% In Past Year [Study]

Adobe released their Digital Index report for the third quarter of 2012 and among many stats, Facebook engagement has increased 896% in the past year. This massive improvement has been attributed to the introduction of the new profile and page design, Timeline.

The Digital Index is a look at global digital advertising each quarter. When comparing the US, UK, and Germany, the overall spend was up 11 percent year-over-year in the US, 25 percent in Germany, and 36 percent in the UK. In overall ROI, the United States is performing the best with a 26 percent increase year-over-year.

Germany experienced a 17 percent decrease in ROI and the UK suffered an 8 percent decrease. Looking at conversion rates on mobile, iOS proved to be far more superior with nearly double the conversions compared to Android.

In the third quarter of 2011, Facebook engagement was up 100 percent. In the first quarter of 2012, it was up 284 percent. Now, just several months later, that number has skyrocketed to 996 percent which represents the 896 percent increase compared to the same time last year.

Clearly, Facebook is still a hotbed for activity with over 1 billion users and this study from Adobe also shows that marketers who invest time and put in the effort can achieve great success.
