Chelsea Clinton made the mother of all Freudian slips while speaking at a rally for her mother’s presidential campaign. That’s right—Chelsea referred to Hillary’s rival (some might say archenemy) Bernie Sanders as “President Sanders.”
Awkward.
Hillary Clinton’s daughter accidentally called Bernie Sanders, her mom’s rival in the Democratic race for the White House, “President Sanders.” She told the crowd at the Minnesota rally that the United States needs to strip away legal immunity for gun manufacturers, protections she went on to say “President Sanders” once voted for.
“I hope not ‘President’ Sanders!’” she said after realizing her mistake. Even with the smooth recovery, it’s a pretty awkward moment. Check it out:

According to NY Daily News:
“Chelsea Clinton’s 2016 stumping is the second time she has campaigned for her mom. She spoke at hundreds of colleges during Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential bid. In recent days, both candidates have escalated their attacks and upended the previously civil tone of the contest.”
Could Chelsea’s words be prophetic? Only if Sanders wins the New Hampshire primary—and then trounces Clinton and his Republican opponent in the rest of the race. According to Ted Devine, Sanders’ campaign manager:
“The momentum that comes from an early victory is huge, and I believe that Bernie’s campaign is in position to take advantage of that momentum. We have strong campaigns on the ground in Nevada and South Carolina, and we have been on radio in Nevada since November and on TV in Nevada since late December.”
Time will tell if Devine is right.
