Watch the Grim Moment a Doctor Pulls an Ant Out of His Patient's Ear

What is it with humans and getting living beings stuck inside their ear?

So far this year, people from around the world have managed to get everything from crickets, to spiders, and ticks stuck in their ear canals, with doctors uploading footage of their extractions online for the internet to gawk at.

And to finish 2018 on a particularly gross note, someone has now gone ahead and got an ant stuck in their outer ear.

Dr Hoat, a surgeon from Vietnam, caught the miniscule insect crawling around inside the patient’s ear canal, where he believes it was “searching for food.”

The patient came to the hospital claiming there was some kind of bug stuck his ear, and after a quick examination, Dr Hoat found the ant next to the man’s eardrum.

Before the extraction, Dr Hoat captured a clip of the creature with his otoscope, before removing it with a pair of tweezers.

Although he was aware something was hiding away in his ear, he was still shocked when he saw the ant, asking the doctor: “How the hell did that crawl into my ear?”

We don’t know dude, we were hoping you’d be able to tell us that… (And we’re pretty sure this experience was a lot worse for the ant than it was for you).
