Taylor Swift Buys Adult Domains For Reasons

Taylor Swift, you smart, smart cookie. We never saw that coming, and yet were we surprised? Not in the slightest, and we mean that in the best way possible.

So, we denizens of the Internet know our domains rather well — you know, the .coms, .orgs, .and sometimes .us or .biz. (there’s also the .tk, but we’ll just put that there for future reference.) Now, the Internets is going to roll out brand-spanking new domains of the more adult persuasion. No really — we’re talking about the .adults, .porns, and the .sucks.

Far be it from us to dissuade people from grabbing these domains for themselves for their own purposes, but T-Swift was quick to take matters into her own hands and buy Taylorswift.porn and Taylorswift.adult.

Turns out T-Swizzle got to these domain names first so that porn bloggers, trolls, and other unsavory characters online couldn’t use them for their own seedy ends.

Taylor Swift isn’t just someone who does random strangers good turns, but she also knows how to protect her and her pals’ privacies. On a boating trip in Maui with her girlfriends from the band Haim, she spotted a number of papparazzi taking shots of them. What does she do? She and her friends snap their own great bikini shots to post on Instagram so the paparazzi don’t make a fortune out of their stolen shots. Here’s proof:

Here’s what she told a BBC radio show about the incident:

“We spent this whole trip feeling like, ‘This is amazing, we’ve been so sly, there’s no paparazzi.’ Then we’re on our last day and we’re whale watching. We see a fishing boat about half a mile away. We were like, ‘That’s a little weird. We’re in the middle of the ocean scuba diving.’ My security got out binoculars and sees that they have a huge, long lens camera, at which point we go back to the beach and realize they got pictures of us in our bikinis.
I didn’t want them to make, like, £100,000, so I was like, ‘We’re getting on the bow of the boat to take better bikini shots so they don’t take better pictures than ours.’”
