It seems one home burglar got a little distracted during his last break-in. The San Francisco Chronicle reports that a California man broke into a home on Thursday morning. Apparently, he was hungry because before stealing anything, the burglar heated up some tater tots and cozied up on the couch.

The homeowner, who was unknowingly upstairs, decided to come downstairs and discovered 44-year-old James Adams sound asleep on her couch. The woman ran back into her bedroom, locked the door and immediately called the police.

The 911 operator told the lady to leave the house and leave the man on the couch. Unfortunately, her footsteps awoke Adams and he took off out the back door, while the homeowner fled through the front door.

Police spotted him just a block away. After a minor struggle with officers and being tased, Adams was taken into custody. Adams is no stranger to legal trouble with a history of “arrests in California and Oregon for being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of weapons, battery on peace officer, felony DUI, drug possession and resisting arrest.”

He is currently in the Sonoma County Jail under the suspicion of burglary and resisting arrest with a $30,000 bond.
