Twitter has always been a social network that appeals to everyone, and according to a new report by Newsmax, Pope Benedict XVI will be getting his own personal account to tweet from. Last year, the Pope stopped sending tweets from The Vatican’s account and apparently is looking to revive his efforts elsewhere.
His account hasn’t been created yet, but its said that he’ll start tweeting by the end of the year. This will be a way for the Pope to keep in touch with millions of believers around the world and share his thoughts and opinions on church related matters.
Seeing Pope Benedict XVI typing tweets on a computer or a phone would be a funny sight, but chances are he won’t be writing anything himself. Instead, Vatican officials will write them and simply have the Pope sign off on them.
An official said that the tweets won’t be too frequent and, as mentioned before, will specifically be related to important news regarding the Catholic church and what’s on his mind.
Even though the Pope is getting very old, that doesn’t mean he knows little to nothing about technology. Okay, well maybe he doesn’t know how to use Twitter. However, getting a personal Twitter account goes to show that at least he’s trying to keep up with the latest mediums.
