Pinterest Gets Secret Boards, New Update For iOS And Android

Pinterest has been toying with the idea of private boards, finally releasing the feature to web and mobile today alongside a new update for iOS and Android. Previously, whenever you created a board, it was always public and anyone could view it.

With secret boards, you can choose if just you can see it or even allow friends and family to see and access it by inviting them. Secret may not be the precise word, but it definitely conveys the message.

This new feature is available on both the web and mobile apps. To create a secret board, you’ll need to go to your profile. At the very bottom, you should see a button that says “Secret Boards” with a lock icon. Click that and you can now create a secret board.

Pinterest has a limit of three for now. If you don’t see the feature anywhere on your profile, that just means it hasn’t rolled out to you yet. Rest assured, it’s coming very soon.

Onto the mobile front, both the iOS and Android app received secret boards as well, including the ability to finally edit boards and block or report users. To create a secret board on your phone, simply navigate to your profile and click on the gray box that says, “Create a secret board.”

If your phone hasn’t received the update yet, you can go here for Android or here for iOS. These new features are sure to be welcomed by Pinterest users, both on the web and on the go.
