Railway Rodent Just Wants Some Pizza; Goes Viral [Video]

Pizza

We’ve seen humans use rats on unwitting victims to get a free lunch and have their plans backfire on them, but for once, here’s a rat bringing home some pizza for lunch.

Seriously. We couldn’t make this up, even if we tried.

See for yourself:

Could this be a real-life Remy from Pixar’s “Ratatouille“? Or Splinter bringing his teenage mutant ninja charges a slice of lunch? We’re not sure ourselves, but we’re thankful to the quick choices and keen eyes of New Yorker Matt Little.

Little took the subway and was on his way home from a long, full day at work, waiting for his ride on the L train at 1st Avenue stop. He spied this tiny, intrepid rodent valiantly dragging a slice of pizza down the steps, and it struck a chord with him. He just knew he wasn’t getting another chance of seeing a sight like this, and quickly filmed it to share with the rest of the Internet.

Within just a few hours, #PizzaRat went viral on Twitter.

Matt Little told Buzzfeed: “It’s all a metaphor for living in New York. You have too far to go and too much carry. But life gives you as much as you can handle.” we feel you, big bro and little bro. The struggle is real.

“There were only about 5 or 6 people on the platform, and we were coming down the stairs, me and my friend Pat, and we noticed it,” Little continues. “If you watch on the video, you can hear him say to the rat ‘Live your best life’.

Yes! Go, live your best life, little guy. Don’t ever let any human, camera, or anything else stop you from taking your pizza and eating it, too.
