One Alabama mom’s actions after her children misbehaved at a movie theater has gone viral. Kyesha Smith Wood, of Birmingham, Alabama dropped her son, daughter and stepdaughter off at the local theater to see Cinderella. Her son is a teenager, while the girls are 13. When she picked her children up, her son revealed that he was embarrassed by the way his sisters had acted. Apparently, the girls were loud and obnoxious during the film’s showing. A middle age mother asked the girls to be quiet, that’s when the girls acted rude. The lady approached the girls and told them that her husband was recently laid off from his job and this was the last movie she would be able to take her daughter to for a long time. The girls had ruined this special outing for them. Wood was mortified to learn how her daughters had acted. In a long shot effort to make amends with the unknown lady and apologize, Wood took to Facebook.
“This rude, disrespectful, and awful behavior is unacceptable and they owe you an apology,” Wood wrote.
Sergent Jack Self from the local sheriff’s office saw Wood’s post and shared it on the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Facebook page. The post quickly gathered more than 245,000 likes. Many applauded Wood for her parenting actions.
What do you think of the way this local mom is handling this situation? Looks like these children have great parents.

Astonishingly, the mystery woman came forward and was identified as Rebecca Boyd of Adger, Alabama. Boyd left a comment on the sheriff’s post.
“I am the mom from the movie theatre,” Boyd wrote in the comment. “I had taken my daughter to see Cinderella..I was very upset and disappointed in the girls behavior…the note from their mom brought me to tears and shows there is still good people in the world. I have no hard feelings towards them and I am proud of their parents. The girls are not not bad…they are children. Glad they are learning a lesson. I hope if my teenagers are out and they act up…I hope someone says something to them.”
Boyd then reached out to Wood to tell her how thankful she was for the apology.

Wood promises that her daughters are writing a letter of apology and contribute some of their allowance for another trip to the movies for Boyd and her daughter. The mother also adds the girls have learned a lot from this situation.
“My girls are so mortified,” Wood told ABC 33/40. “They are humiliated. And that’s OK because I told them, ‘You know what, you’re not going to do this again.”
The added publicity has also been great for Boyd’s family. The family has received several job offers and support.
