Nature in its full unadulterated form can be quite traumatic, especially if you’re a kid… or a Ned Flanders. After all, sexual intercourse or public nudity is not exactly intended for public viewing no matter what nudists say to you. Apparently, even animals in the act of procreation can get disturbing for people, which is what happened in a mall in the UK where a polar bear sex display disturbed the mall-goers.

The said mall was named Tynwald Mills and is located in Isle of Man, UK and it seems that the mall officials had mating season in mind instead of the holiday season. Hence, a display of two polar bears doing it “polar bear” style was placed in a rather strategic public location. Sure, polar bear displays are quite common this winter, but none are as daring as this:

You could say that because of the polar bear display, the people’s reactions were… polarized. Some were amused, while some were outright offended and disturbed. However, it seems that a lot more people did not mind the said display compared to those who deemed the display inappropriate. Still, the mall was compelled to issue an apology to the offended visitors.

“We’d like to thank our customers for getting a little too into Christmas this year with our Polar Bears in the atrium and can reassure you the display has changed somewhat since setup. Apologies to anybody offended by our somewhat interactive display,” says the mall management. They did change it to something tamer:

This proves once and for all that not everyone has the Christmas spirit for the “polar express.”
