Google’s Takeout Initiative Makes It Simple To Download All Your YouTube Videos At Once

Google’s data portability initiative Takeout announced on Wednesday the inclusion of YouTube video transfer rights. The service is geared towards making it easier for Google services customers to pack up their data and move it elsewhere.

Developed by Google’s Data Liberation Front, the groups motto is:

“Users should be able to control the data they store in any of Google’s products. Our team’s goal is to make it easier to move data in and out.”

Using the Takeout program in YouTube is simple, just log in to your account, wait for it to analyze your data and then choose to download an archive of your YouTube videos.

The system can be used for personally downloaded videos and is not available for videos uploaded by other users.

YouTube notes that no transcoding or other video changes are made since the videos are downloaded in the identical format they were uploaded in.

You can learn more and use the Takeout YouTube center here.
