Facebook is in the final testing stages of development for its native Google Android App.
Engadget on Monday spoke with an unnamed source who revealed the final testing stages. Unfortunately no details for the sure to be top downloaded app have been given at this time.
Google last month released its native iPhone and iPad apps which ditched HTML5 in exchange for programming code that more closely ties the social network to Apple’s own device code.
HTML5, long hailed as the answer for a better web was found to drastically slow down Facebook’s original apps because it relied so heavily on fast internet connections to operate most parts of the mobile platforms.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg last month admitted that Facebook made a mistake in choose HTML5 over a native application. Zuck revealed at the time:
“The biggest mistake we made as a company was betting too much on HTML5 as opposed to native. It just wasn’t ready.”
Are you excited to see and use a native Google Android app?
