Facebook on Thursday rolled out a more rich commenting system by adding the ability to share videos, photos and links with website preview information.
In the past a preview of links was only displayed when a user was creating a status update, now when a user inputs a YouTube URL, the URL to a photo or a link, that URL will display a quick preview of the product being shown.
Video URL’s will also show a video player as they currently do for status updates, while other URL’s will give a preview of the page in question.
The update isn’t the most mind boggling option found on the Facebook system or even the best recent system enhancement which I consider to be Facebook Video Calling, but it does create a more rich experience, allowing users to determine with the help of a preview whether or not they want to visit a URL, plus you don’t have to leave the page to watch YouTube and other videos.
Here’s a quick look at the new Facebook commenting link preview system:
Are you excited to finally have a preview system for Facebook and how would you go about creating an even more rich content sharing system for the social network?
