Why buy a cow when you can cuddle with them for a fee? Of course, that is not what cows are for, but that does not stop anyone from charging a fee for some cow cuddles. That is exactly what’s happening now in the Eastern side of the U.S., apart from all the other weird things. Yep, you can now visit New York or Philadelphia for cow cuddling, so moo-ve over goat yoga, or is it baaah-ck off?
While it may initially sound like an adult slang for something un-wholesome, it is anything but. Cow cuddling is as real and as literal as it gets. Apparently, people in the Eastern coast of the U.S. are too stressed. Hence, the extreme moo-sures, sorry, measures. The said cow cuddling is now being offered there by Mountain Horse Farm in upstate New York.
Make no mistake, however, it is anything but a cheap trick. It’s actually quite expensive at $75 per hour. For that much, you can… er, cuddle with cows. Animals have indeed proven to be effective stress relievers, however, the explanation for cow cuddling is more scientific than you think. They also have a more in-depth rate at $300 for 90 minutes but with both cows and horses.
“Cows have a body temperature that is slightly higher than humans and their heart rate is lower than ours. Cuddling up with a cow, feeling that lower heart rate and higher body temperature, is very relaxing. They will pick up on what’s going on inside and sense if you are happy, sad, feel lost, anxious or are excited, they will respond to that without judgment, ego or agenda,” so says Mountain Horse Farm.
They also assure everyone that their cows are safe and will not go mad and suddenly have a beef with you.
