Cop Saves Baby Skunk Stuck In An Unlikely Place [Video]

baby skunk rescue

One Michigan police officer is being called a hero after saving a smelly baby from a sticky situation.

Officer Merlin Taylor answered a call about a skunk in distress. That’s when Taylor discovered a baby skunk, who had gotten its head stuck inside a yogurt container. The police officer grabbed a pair of plastic gloves and began to track the little animal. He tiptoes around the baby skunk as he waits for the perfect time to rescue him. The funny part is, it was all captured on camera.

It shows the moment that Taylor quickly grabs the cup off the baby skunk’s head and darts away. Lucky for him too, experts say skunks are able to spray at about 4 weeks old and they don’t venture out of the den until 6 weeks. So chances are, this skunk was capable of some very smelly damage.

The video was shared on the Rochester police department’s Facebook page and quickly went viral.
