Sitting down to a good breakfast is one of the simplest, most satisfying pleasures Life can offer you. Whether you’re into toast, fried rice, hash browns, porridge, bacon, pancakes, waffles… Seriously, I could go on and on. Breakfasts are a joy to behold, and a glory to relish.
Allan Miller, a local down in Bristol, went down the Gloucester Old Spot and ordered his regular ham-egg-and-chips morning fare. what arrived on his plate was something very, very rare.
“His family were in the garden and he was shouting for them to come in and have a look at it.
“I just cannot believe it. It is so rare to even see a double yolker. I mean, I grew up with chickens and this is the first time I’ve seen a triple one,” shares pub owner Amy Devenish. “To get them both served up on one plate at a time is just unbelievable really.”
Allan’s morning plate held not two yolks, not three yolks, but a whopping five yolks — all from one egg. Finding such an egg is a 25 billion-to-one chance. Finding a double-yolker is a bit more common, going at a thousand-to-one chance of it happening.
“The boys in the kitchen were ringing the bell and saying to me, ‘You’ve got to come and see this’.
“When we brought the meal out, Alan was just so happy. He was absolutely thrilled with it. He said he had never even seen a double yolker before.”
Devenish acquires their free-range Cotswold Legbar eggs from producers in Zeals, Wilts.

We can only imagine that five-yolk sunny side up was absolutely delicious.
