Women with bigger-than-average rumps are not only smarter than those with littler buns, they’re too healthier, says an University of Oxford study.
These days, ladies are resorting to squat challenges and Brazilian butt lifts to get their derrieres mimicking those that belong to celebrities like Nicki MInaj and Kim Kardashian.
Now, science is even providing women more reason to embrace their plump moneymakers. “The idea that body fat distribution is important to health has been known for some time,” lead researcher Professor Konstantinos Manolopoulous explains. “However, it is only very recently that thigh fat and a large hip circumference have been shown to promote health; that lower body fat is protective by itself.”
The study, which collected data from 16,000 women, disclosed that females with larger butts are more impervious to chronic illnesses, and appear to have lower levels of cholesterol and glucose. These ladies too displayed higher levels of Omega-3 fats, leptin, a hormone that governs weight, and dinopectina, a hormone that consists of anti-diabetic and anti-inflammatory properties.
In addition, those with larger posteriors have enhanced adipose tissue, which is said to play a role in deterring cardiovascular disease by shielding fatty particles from propagating through the body.
While possessing excess fat in the lower region of your body can be beneficial to your mental and physical health, the ruling that belly and upper body fat leads to serious health issues still remains.
It’s too essential to note that the researchers examined women with natural buttocks, not surgically-enhanced (fake) ones.
