Meet Ben Bennett, a performance artist who is known for a strange form of art. He sits in front of a camera for hours, still and smiling. He then posts the strange videos to YouTube. Gawker discovered the artist’s videos. They reached out for a comment on why Bennet chose this type of performance, no response yet, probably way too busy smiling. Check it out for yourself, you know if watching a guy smile at you for hours on end is your thing.
Bennet also makes the four-hour smiling sessions available as streams. That’s not weird at all, right?
The entire project can be viewed on the artist’s website, SittingandSmiling.com. The website isn’t much, just the smiling videos, a donation link and an email address. In case you wanted to know, it’s sittingandsmiling@gmail.com.
