Facebook’s decision to remove fake likes from brand pages earlier this week in an attempt to improve the social network’s integrity was not without collateral damage.
FanPageList analyzed the losses, finding that seven celebrities and three games suffered most form the purge. Lady Gaga’s page lost 65,505 fans between Tuesday and Thursday, followed by Rihanna, Shakira, and Justin Bieber.
Game pages that lost fans were Texas Holdem, CityVille and Mafia Wars, with Texas Holdem losing nearly 200,000 fans, marking the biggest decline, followed by CityVille which lost 72,631 fans.
Overall, brand ages only lost 1% of their total fans on average, just like Facebook originally predicted.
