Several Likely Ways The Human Race Will End, According To Science

human race

It’s difficult to ignore: The human race is pretty much screwed, yet we wander obliviously. Want to prepare? Here are a few ways our demise may come.

via Pinterest; One way is by nuclear annihilation (non-accidentally)

We’ve been warned by several of the most profound brains of the last century that we are on course to blowing ourselves to smithereens. The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists since 1947 has been tracking possible threats to humanity’s existence using a metaphorical clock, with each advancing tick toward a planet-ending “midnight” representing the hazard of a more impending potential finale to what researchers call “people.” Accordant to the biophysicists, physicists, inventors and diplomats who lend to the Bulletin, we have come within “two minutes” of an Earth-ending nuclear disaster two times: once in 1953 when the Soviet Union and the U.S. began publicly testing atomic weapons with a goal of freaking each other out, and once more right this (not figurative) minute. With the Iran Nuclear Deal, the United States’ latest abandonment of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, in addition to substantial funding boosts to nuclear armament, perhaps we should start building a bunker like NOW.

via Weather; Climate change is another potential way the human race may perish

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change says: “Scientific evidence for warming of the climate system is unequivocal.” Scientists concur: Earth’s temperatures are spiking, there’s more CO2 in the atmosphere than at any point in the history of humans, and we may just be beyond mending the damage. How it goes is. Greenhouse gases (like methane and carbon dioxide) soak in heat from the Sun and back into the atmosphere reflect it, heating the planet. As we (humans) expel more and more of these gases into the air through vehicles and industrialization, the temperature continues to heighten. Everlasting effects have been documented already. Scientists, in 2016, confirmed for the first time that a species of mammal had gone extinct as a result of climate change. The ice caps are melting, elevating ocean levels to where metropolises like Venice are flooding, slaying residents. As patterns of weather become more extreme, whole areas of the planet could become uninhabitable. Ecosystems could collapse. Economies could collapse. And accordant to NASA, it could take decades, perhaps even centuries to halt even if we cease producing carbon dioxide right this second.
