Visual Analytics Platform Curalate Adds Instagram Integration

Curalate Adds Instagram Support

Visual analytics tool Curalate has added Instagram support to its growing platform.

Curalate is an analytics platform that uses a proprietary algorithm to decipher the individual pixels in a photo that has been shared. The platform then searches for a product related to the photo it is examining. The platform then showcases the number of likes, comments, interactions and other information for each photo.

Previously Curalate had focused on the super popular Pinterest platform thanks to its focus on image postings.

With a database that is already filled with billions of photos the Curalate platform is being used by big name retailers including HGTV, Nine West, and Michael Kors, among others.

The company’s goal is to provide useful analytics tools for businesses while potentially leading the way towards better image marketing.

According to Curalate CEO Apu Gupta:

“Images drive emotions with an immediacy that no other medium offers. Brands are rapidly tapping into the power of imagery to connect with consumers and drive real business results.”

Brand will not be able to track conversations on Pinterest and Instagram from a single feed. By examining both networks Curalate users will be better equipped for determining what products are trending and then push out further marketing for those products.

Curalate is even working to decipher between user submitted photos and brand submitted photos.

Speaking to DigitalTrends Gupta explains:

“We help brands understand which images are most popular rather than what’s most recently posted. While we enable brands to monitor photo engagement as it happens, we find that with large brands they need an efficient way to determine what photos are more actionable.”
