Fast Furious 6 star Vin Diesel is a popular guy on Facebook. So popular that he has racked up 41 million likes for his own Facebook page. Now the movie star is proclaiming that Facebook “owes me billions” of dollars.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly the action star explains his rise in Facebook fame:

“What Facebook didn’t realize is something very big was about to happen, and that was — for the first time in history, and it’s kind of a fluke they didn’t see this coming — when I jumped on that page in April 2009, I started talking to people. In the realest ways.”

Diesel then explains:

“So, when I had started my page, the only person that had a million fans was Barack Obama. Because it was first-quarter 2009, and he’d just got elected as President, because of social media. So, when I started talking to the fans, I became the No. 1 page in the world. Over Coca-Cola, over huge companies. And it was only because I said: ‘Hi, guys, I love you.'”

Talking about his FB popularity Vin Diesel then explained that even Facebook corporate didn’t understand why he at one point was the most popular person on Facebook. According to Diesel Facebook asked him “to come up to their office to explain what the f— I was doing, and why I had so many fans.”

Finally in his often understated way with humor he adds:

“Facebook really owes me billions of dollars.”

  1. My mom really likes Vin Diesel. I'm more of a Paul Walker fan myself..I mean, he's good looking for a white guy. :p
I don't like Vin Diesels Facebook page, maybe I will. 🙂

  2. This is what happens when you have a celerity ACTUALLY on FB (instead of fan and/or fake pages) and are actually active in sharing everything from work to family.
