Twitter is continuing it march towards big data dominance with today’s acquisition of Lucky Sort.
Lucky Sort is a natural language data-mining and visualization platform which offers various tools for analysis purposes. For example, the company powers the market intelligence visualizations for StockTwits.
Based in Portland, Oregon the team at Lucky Sort will begin to close down its offices in the coming months. Employees including CEO Noah Pepper will then join Twitter at its San Francisco headquarters.
In a public statement Pepper writes:
“In building Lucky Sort we had an enormous amount of support from friends, employees, advisors and investors. It has been uplifting to have so many people help us and it highlighted just how much business is a social endeavor.”
News of the acquisition arrives just one week after Twitter acquired large-scale computing company Ubalo.
