Twitter introduced its beta test program for Android back in August, and has just launched a new alpha test program.
While beta testers get to try out features before they hit the stable app, alpha testers get to try out features ahead of beta.
It’s very similar to Google Chrome for example, which has a stable, beta, and then developer (alpha) version.
The social network is only accepting users registered as beta testers, and there’s no mention of how many people will receive access to the alpha version.
Considering the Twitter for Android Experiment Google Group is not displaying properly, that basically leaves out users not already registered as beta testers.
However, since the alpha/developer version can be very unstable, more so than the Twitter for Android beta app, it’s probably not too big of a missed opportunity.
