Blizzard Announces Warlords Of Draenor, New World Of Warcraft Expansion

Blizzard Announces Warlords of Draenor

Blizzard didn’t waste any time on Friday announcing a new expansion for World of Warcraft, called Warlords of Draenor. The popular MMORPG game maker used the opening ceremonies at BlizzCon 2013 to reveal Draenor.

For those who couldn’t attend the con, Blizzard also made the announcement on Twitter, writing:

The new expansion will be set in Draenor, the home world of the Draenei. New features include the ability to level to 100, building a Garrison, new character models, raids, dungeons, a world PvP zone, and tons more.

Blizzard included two screenshots of new graphics for Warlords of Draenor, showcasing the Horde starting zone and Shadowmoon Valley:

WoW lovers can also expect updated character models in the new expansion, thanks to higher detail, updated animations, and better visuals than past expansions. Players will be given an option to upgrade one character to level 90 and master new abilities before entering Draenor. While the new world of Draenor is certainly a massive change, another huge difference will be garrisons, which allow players to build their own fully functioning town. Finally, Blizzard also announced a new raid structure:

While World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor will certainly be different, we’re already planning on spending a few weeks leveling characters ahead of the newest expansion. There is no word on when the expansion will be released.
