Pop quiz, teachers of America: what do you do when an asshat student tapes a profanity-laced, grammatically-impoverished ultimatum to your classroom door for all to see?
You take it down, grade it, and put it back on your door.
An unnamed, expert level troll teacher from McKinley High School (city unknown) did just that. After a student who really really really didn’t want to read Wuthering Heights taped a note to her door declaring that he (and his fellow seniors) were “out this b*tch” (despite having fun “for the most part” in her class), she took out her best red pen and made the letter bleed.
Line by line, she imparted one final style and mechanics lesson to her student, and left him with a note that pretty much summarizes exactly why everyone should pay attention in Composition:
“*Please use your education appropriately. Proofreading takes five minutes & keeps you from looking stupid.*”
That’s one master passive-aggressive mind-f*ck.
This teacher’s graded letter was posted on reddit nearly two weeks ago, and is going viral today after several publications picked it up. You can read it for yourself below, and let us know what you think in the comments beneath. Did this teacher react perfectly, or what?
Teachers have actually been a pretty social topic this week. We’re still looking for your thoughts on the teacher who quit after being told she can’t be Facebook friends with her students, as well as the teacher who got into a physical confrontation with a student who was allegedly dealing drugs in his class.
