As we grow up into more mature members of the society, we tend to learn more about how… odd the world truly is. Sexual taste, for example, become a jumbled mess of preferences & Venn diagrams. So you probably would not be surprised that a Japanese man stole $2,700 worth of used shoes for his sexual pleasure… right?
Regardless, sexual pleasure is a difficult beast to tame. Often, it can lead to toxic urges and that much is true for 40-year-old Japanese man Makoto Endo. Endo has recently been put on trial in Japan for allegedly stealing a large number of used shoes– about 70 pairs, worth $2,700, over a 13-month period.
Endo’s reason for stealing the used shoes? He likes— loves, to sniff ’em. Apparently, it gets him off…
“I did it to get sexual pleasure by sniffing the smell of well-worn shoes, regardless of their owners being men or women,” the Japanese man confessed. Endo reportedly committed the said crimes from June 2017 to August 2018. He was only caught and arrested in September because the police suspected his involvement in a string of shoe thefts in Saitama and Tochigi prefectures.
It was unclear how Endo managed to steal that many used shoes but people have been proven to be dedicated and focused when seeking sexual pleasure. This is not the first time that someone has had weird sexual preferences and enacted upon them. In fact, we also have a man who had sex with a car, and a man who wanted to have sex with a cockroach. Love does move in mysterious ways.
