Not having a security camera installed in your home can be scary, that would be inviting trouble over. However, having a security camera opens your household up for a different kind of otherworldly scares. One household in California experienced something else entirely when their security footage showed a random man licking their doorbell– for three hours.
We’re also not sure whether we are to be impressed or creeped out by that, but the incident happened in Salinas, California to Sylvia Dungan’s household and her house’s doorbell. When they got home from a vacation, Dungan was alerted by their security system due to strange movement. This took place early in the morning.
“I thought, boy there’s a lot of traffic. I go, 5 in the morning? My son doesn’t get home till 6 a.m. Well then who the heck is that?” said Dungan. So, she checked the security footage of their cameras: it was a random man, licking their doorbell, and he kept doing it for about three hours. Here’s a snippet of the footage:
The prowling man’s named was revealed to be Roberto Daniel Arroyo, 33, according to the police and he is now facing misdemeanor charges for petty theft and prowling. He still remains at large after all those, uh, licks. Meanwhile, Dungan and his family spent hours sanitizing their doorbells, apart from that, no damage was reported.
However, the police found out from the rest of the security footage that Arroyo also went and urinated on the Dungan’s lawn and also took off with an extension cord. Thankfully, no one was harmed or violated (save for the doorbell) in the strange incident, oddly, despite the three-hour licking session, Arroyo did not make anyone come… home, that is.
