Rising YouTube Star Molly Kestner’s Soulful And Emotional Original Song Will Move You, Guaranteed [Video]

This is Molly Kestner. Earlier this week, she was just a high school senior with decent pipes and a dream. Now, after the above video was shared on Facebook by George Takei, she’s a YouTube sensation and national obsession. Something tells us that unlike other YouTube stars, Kestner’s no one-hit wonder. We should get used to seeing her.

The video features Kestner crooning an original song, and the performance is just chilling. She writes of it:

“Okay….So this is probably my favorite song I’ve ever written. I wrote it a year ago but I never posted it because I wanted to save it for my senior solo, but now that’s over…so I am FINALLY sharing it with the world. It’s called ‘His Daughter’ and it is a story. So I hope you are inspired as I was when I wrote this. Happy Easter:)”

After the video’s success this week, Kestner set up her own Facebook fan page. It has already received nearly 20,000 likes.

Called America’s Adele by Takei, Kestner picked up 30,000 shares from the Star Trek alum’s Facebook page and snowballed from there. Currently, her video has nearly 700,000 likes, and has been on the viral upswing since early this week. Sometimes viral videos slow burn like this, so we predict there will be many more thousands of views on her video by week’s end.

Young, overnight stars tend to have a stereotypical trajectory, so just in case … Hey, Molly. Remember your roots, don’t go too crazy, and if you find yourself with a shaved head, wailing on a car with an umbrella, it’s time to go back home. Be good!
