Not a Good Sign: President Trump’s National Security Spokesman Bails

Before you even ask I will tell you. The National Security Spokesman for the White House is the guy who tells all the world (and also advises the president) on how to handle affairs involving the security of the united states. It is a very prestigious and important cog in the giant machine that is the White House political machine. Remember that movie, National Treasure where Nic Cage stole the constitution because reasons? He is the kind of guy who would stop that sort of thing (I assume).

So when the president’s National Security Spokesman ups and bails on you (kind of out of the blue) it does not bode well for the current administration. Many think this may have something to do with the scathing piece of writing Michael Anton (the man of whom which we are speaking) released in 2016 that was pretty much a painful indictment of where he felt this country was heading.

“2016 is the Flight 93 election: charge the cockpit or you die,” he wrote. “To compound the metaphor: a Hillary Clinton presidency is Russian Roulette with a semi-auto. With Trump, at least you can spin the cylinder and take your chances.”

Wow, he did not sugar coat that at ALL. May want to soften the edges there a bit, Mike. 9/11 analogies are still a little weird and painful, especially when made by the very people who did not stop it. Yeah, I just said that.

But anyway, it was clear before any of this happened he was not happy with either direction the potential leaders of the country were taking us, and just felt like it was a matter of time before either of them ran this country into the ground. He seemed to have more hope in Trump at the time, and that hope has clearly been since extinguished.

It is said he was sent away with well-wishes by all, with many working there right now wishing they had the courage to do the exact same thing. Sadly, even soulless politicians need to pay bills.

I think.
