Poop Cafe To Sell Feces-Shaped Desserts, Hungry?

Toronto is now to be the home of some of the greatest restaurants and chefs in the world, but the latest venture in the city is a bit shocking and a little gross.

The Poop Cafe Dessert Bar plans to open next month in Koreatown, and the eatery will offer, you guessed it, an all-brown, poop-shaped menu. The owner, Lien Nguyen says she want to take a gross topic and turn it into something people will love.

“I’m trying to make poop cute,” Ms Nguyen explained to the Toronto Star.

The strange concept was something that caught the attention of Nguyen during one her trips abroad in Tawian.

“We checked out a toilet-themed restaurant and I just loved it,” she said. “It’s funny to put food and poop together; it’s a great comparison. It stayed in my mind for a long time. As soon as I finished school, I said, ‘OK, I’m going to bring the restaurant to Toronto.’”

The Brown University graduate says that her cafe will serve tradition Asian desserts, such as Thai, Japanese and Korean desserts.

Nguyen says it won’t just be the menu that revolves around feces, so will the entire environment. Diners will be seated on fake toilets and the food will be served in toilet and urinal-shaped dishes. The restaurant is definitely not for the faint of heart.

Nguyen’s restaurant isn’t the first restaurant to have a shocking concept. Naked restaurants have been a recent trend in the culinary world and surprisingly a big success.
