Earlier this year, Facebook Platform Manager Dave Morin announced he was leaving the powerful web property to launch a mobile social network called Path with Napster dude Sean Fanning.
Unlike Facebook, Path is geared towards paring down your social circle rather than expanding it exponentially, and encourages keeping your contacts list simple with a limit of 50. But the mini-social-circle site is expanding its team, most recently adding an employee culled from the ranks of Facebook.
TBI posted today about how Path has lured Facebook Operations Manager Matthew Welty to its smaller team. Path has recruited active Facebook employees in the past- and TBI snagged this bit of info from Welty’s LinkedIn profile about his work with the social networking giant:
“I worked in a range of hands-on technical and people management roles, from starting Facebook’s original 24x7x365 Site Reliability team, to conceiving and managing the Application Operations group, and finally architecting, implementing and supporting the technical infrastructure behind the new Facebook Messages.”
