Patrick Stewart Plays Part In Twitter IPO, Rings NYSE Opening Bell

Patrick Stewart may not be saying “Engage!” anymore aboard the Starship Enterprise, but with over 720,000 Twitter followers, he’s engaging elsewhere.

To much surprise, the beloved actor rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange this morning in anticipation for Twitter’s IPO.

However, Patrick Stewart wasn’t the only person who rang the opening bell.

He was also joined by Vivienne Harr, a nine-year-old helping raise money to end child slavery, and Cheryl Fiandaca who represented the Boston Police.

During an interview this morning with CNBC, Patrick Stewart said Twitter has helped change his career, and one of the reasons he played part in the social network’s IPO.
