When Cardi B voiced her opinions in a video on the government shutdown, Tomi Lahren couldn’t resist weighing in. No surprise here. In Cardi B’s video she drags Republicans for allowing the shutdown to go on for so long and for comparing Obama’s shutdown for healthcare to Trump’s.

Now, I don’t wan to hear ya’ll motherf*ckers talking about, ‘Oh, but Obama shut down the government for 17 days.’ Yeah bitch! For healthcare, so your grandma could check her blood pressure, and you bitches could go check your p*ssies at the gynocologist with no motherf*cking problem.

In more than just a few words, Cardi B made it clear that she didn’t agree with the fact that people were being forced to work without pay all for a wall. Tomi Lahren found the need to put her two cents in and make a snide comment about Cardi B becoming the “latest genius political mind to endorse the Democrats” which was incredibly harsh. That didn’t prevent the artist from coming back with a promise to dog walk Conservative Barbie.

Instead of acknowledging that she threw unnecessary and frankly unprompted shade at the rapper, Lahren just dug her grave deeper. She calls Cardi’s video “political rambling” and “moronic” simply because they didn’t align with her racist views. If you watch the video, you’ll see that Cardi B doesn’t bash Republicans or any particular politician. She simply points out that the shutdown was wrong and calls for action, which led to her becoming a target on Twitter.

As usual, one of the first things conservatives did to attack Cardi B was to slut shame her. A conservative journalist I’ve never heard of who works at a publication I’ve never heard of took it too far by asking the musician how her dance moves empower women. It seems she may have gotten confused about what the #MeToo moment is all about, but that’s a conversation for another day. Cardi B handled the situation like a boss though, and a ton of women tweeted their support for her.

It’s not about whether you’re conservative or liberal, Republican or Democrat. Supporting a government shutdown that forces any American to work without pay is a national problem. Instead of taking sides and being so divided, Cardi is simply trying to point out that we should come together as citizens to do something about this.
