A Milwaukee neighborhood is on high alert after reports of a lion possibly roaming the area. On Monday afternoon, a woman called police reporting that she had seen a lion. The authorities say they were given cellphone video by the woman that showed a “lion-ish creature.” Despite searching the area, police did not find any wild feline.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources said that it is “theoretically possible” that a wild cat could of found its way into the neighborhood. They have also investigated the area.
The news of the sighting quickly made its way onto social media. It was even given its own hashtag and went viral.

The Milwaukee Zoo saw this as a perfect advertising moment.
