Michael Keaton Stars In ‘Birdman’ Trailer And It’s Awesome

Iron Man, Wonder Woman, and Spider-Man get most of the press these days but don’t forget about Birdman. The new superhero movie starring Michael Keaton is generating a lot of buzz with its new trailer.

Michael Keaton plays Riggan Thomson, an actor who was once famous for playing the superhero Birdman. Thomson’s star has faded, however, and he’s now struggling to maintain his fame.

The plot of Birdman is familiar territory for Michael Keaton. Keaton’s biggest role is arguable Batman. His fame dropped off after that film but he’s been able to maintain a successful career with parts in Toy Story, RoboCop, and The Other Guys.

Riggan Thomson, well, the fictional character took a different path. Judging by the Birdman trailer, Thomson may slowly be going insane. He pictures himself as Birdman, he tries to fly off a building, and he parades down the street in his underwear.

The international trailer for Birdman or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance was released today. It contains some NSFW language so consider yourself warned.

In addition to Michael Keaton, the new film stars Emma Stone, Ed Norton, Zach Galifianakis, and Naomi Watts.

Birdman has been generating major buzz since the first trailer hit the internet earlier this month. It was recently announced that the film, directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu, will open the Venice Film Festival and close the New York Film Festival.
