A lot of kids lean on an imaginary friend to keep them occupied or share some downtime with. Eventually, they outgrow the invisible pal, grow up, and move on. It’s all pretty cute and innocent enough. In the case of 3 year old Ruby, however, it sounds like her imaginary friend is downright haunting.
Maybe Ruby just has a healthy imagination, but in a pic making the rounds on Twitter that notes “Meet our imaginary friends” and explains “We asked some of our favorite kids to draw their make-believe pals,” Ruby’s description is… kind of chilling.
Ruby, you have a ghost. This is straight up terrifying. pic.twitter.com/DM0y77CWHI

Actress Natalie Morales shared the image on Twitter, tweeting: “Ruby, you have a ghost. This is straight up terrifying.”
In the photo, proud Ruby holds up a drawing of her friend and the description reads: “This is my imaginary mum, Grateful. Her yellow eyelashes mean she can see in the dark — she only comes to see me at night-time. It scares me sometimes, but I always want her to come back. She has two babies in her belly. She’s 14, but can never have a birthday.”
There’s a lot to unpack there, Ruby. It sounds like a teenage ghost who is pregnant with twins not only scares the kid at night, but also keeps her wanting for repeat visits.
People responded with the inevitable Ghost and The Sixth Sense movie references, with Natalie Morales thinking twice of her tweet and realizing a missed opportunity, as she wrote: “Damnit i just realized the caption shoulda been ‘Ruby, you in danger girl.’”

One helpful Twitter user even drew their version of Ruby’s friend:
