Today is the anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts and J.K. Rowling just hopped on Twitter to apologize for killing off a few of our favorite characters. If you read Social News Daily at all, then you know that we love Ms. Rowling, her Twitter presence especially is phenomenal. And she started the tradition of apologizing for the deaths a few years ago with a Tweet.
It's the 16th anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts. I'm having a moment's silence over my keyboard. I hated killing some of those people.

The Battle of Hogwarts was the biggest killing spree that J.K. Rowling went on, and it was terrible. If you were part of the Harry Potter generation then you definitely shed a tear during the scene where we found out that Fred Weasley died. I mean, why did she have to kill him off, we would have been fine if she’d let a few death eaters kick the bucket.
And today she went on Twitter to apologize for a few more deaths.
Once again, it's the anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts so, as promised, I shall apologise for a death. This year: Remus Lupin.

In the interests of total honesty I'd also like to confess that I didn't decide to kill Lupin until I wrote Order if the Phoenix.

Arthur lived, so Lupin had to die. I'm sorry. I didn't enjoy doing it. The only time my editor ever saw me cry was over the fate of Teddy. ?

So there it is folks, if you were waiting from an apology from Rowling then you’ve got it but you’re probably going to have to wait for the next anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts for another one.
