It should be very clear by now that a lot of people do not like Donald Trump, both as a person and as a president. Hating him is one thing, wanting him dead or plans to assassinate Trump, well, completely different and, perhaps even unwarranted. Still, that did not prevent the assassination attempts against Trump, one of which actually took place last year but was foiled by the U.S. Secret Service, according to a recent documentary from National Geographic.

Back in November 2017, it can be recalled that the 50th ASEAN Summit took place in the Philippines. Little did we know, alleged members of ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) were actually planning to kill Trump. Special Agent Audrey Gibson of the U.S. Secret Service and her team monitored what appeared to be online threats made towards Trump prior to his arrival in the Philippines.

One of the alleged ISIS members even posted of photo of Trump photoshopped with bullet holes. Meanwhile, another social media user posted “Gonna be in Manila the same time as Trump… I’ll take one for the team lads.” Gibson also mentioned that they tracked all those involved in said posts and were shocked that one of them was indeed, stationed in Manila, Philippines where Trump (security codename: Mogul) was to attend the ASEAN Summit. In fact, he was just kilometers away from the hotel that Trump was supposed to stay in.

Apparently, Agent Gibson and her team were able to “nab” the guy 20 minutes before Trump arrives in the Philippines. They tracked down the alleged assassin to a place called Luneta Park where they coordinated with the Philippine National Police (PNP) to take down the suspect during his meeting with his “associate.” They did not reveal the identity of the alleged assassin, but it appears that the assassination attempt indeed failed, as you can see today. Crisis averted(?).
