Instagram finally made its way to Windows Phone this week, and according to inside sources, the social network will soon roll out private messaging.
According to Om Malik, Founder of GigaOM, sources say private messaging will launch before the end of 2013, and Instagram is also testing group messaging.
The upgrade timing makes perfect sense: With the holidays around the corner and smartphones as likely hot gift items, many people are going to experience Instagram for the first time and they should perhaps start with a brand new experience.
The social network has yet to comment on the matter, and it’s uncertain if Facebook’s Messenger service will possibly be integrated in some way.
Instagram Ads have been slowly popping up in user’s feeds, and according to a recent study, the first ever ad saw a 370 percent increase in likes.
