Instagram Reports 90 Million Monthly Active Users Despite TOS Concerns

Instagram has been battling a blitzkrieg of concerns over its recently introduced Terms of Service changes but today the company has reported that it now service an amazing 90 million monthly active users. The report came about via Instagram’s official press page. According to the company Instagram now serves 40 million photos daily with 8500 likes per second and 1000 comments per second. However, the mobile photo sharing platform fails to mention daily active users on its press page.

For comparison, Facebook experiences a combined 37,037 comments and likes per second with over 300 million photos uploaded daily.

A recent report from app traffic tool AppStats has also surfaced, in that report he company claims that Instagram has lost over half its daily active users which went from 16.3 million daily active users in mid-December to 7.6 million today.

Several weeks ago Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom published a new blog post titled “Updated Terms Of Service Based On Your Feedback.” In his post Kevin talked about the concerns users had over the new advertising section of the TOS and he then said Instagram had reverted back to the original version of its TOS which had been in place since Instagram launched in October 2010.
