Groom Slams Meninists With Brilliant Comeback, Twitter Applauds

Meninists

You know those Meninists? That group of men on the Internet who focus on bringing to light the “immense and unbearable turmoil” of being a man in this day and age, of Oh the privilege! and Oh the wage inequality in their favor! and Egad, the double standards and the glass ceilings! — well, that, and making fun of feminism.

Recently, they decided to crack a joke at the expense of a married couple. Needless to say, they picked the wrong people to mess with.

May I present Exhibit A:

AdamBig

The man pictured above is Adam Harris seeing his lovely wife Tisa come down the stairs on their wedding day at Dripping Springs, Texas. The emotional photos went viral or months for their honesty and intimacy. It gave people everywhere the warm fuzzies of love and happiness.

and then the Meninists decided “nope, joke material”.

So Adam wasn’t having any of it. This is his response:

That, my friends, is how you stay classy.

Harris shared his memories of his wedding day with Buzzfeed News:

“It was raining all day and windy. We were a bit afraid the ceremony wouldn’t happen outdoors like we wanted it to but around noon the rain let up until the end of the ceremony. We agreed not to do the first look because we thought it would be more exciting to see each other for the first time during the ceremony. When it came time in the ceremony for her to walk down the aisle our DJ played “Beautiful” by Meshell Ndegeocello and the doors above the stairs opened. When I saw her, I couldn’t hold back feelings of excitement and love, she looked gorgeous. Our photographer, Dustin Finklestein, captured the moment perfectly.”

Harris’ tweet went viral — in just three days, it was retweeted over 78,000 times. (The original meninist tweet reached just around 5,000.)

It takes a special kind of elegance to be this chill.

You hear that, meninists? It’s call class. Too bad you can’t buy it in a store.

Congrats from us here at Social News Daily, Adam and Tisa! Here’s to your future filled with unperturbed class and and true inner elegance. Cheers!
