Google+ received a big push from users from March through April after the social network site witnessed a 5% traffic increase in April 2012. According to analytics provider Experian Hitwise the social networks overall reach climbed to 64 million visits.
The sites jump in traffic makes sense after Google began to further push the popularity of its Google+ Hangouts system which has been used by the likes of Conan O’Brien and NFL 1st round draft pick Andrew Luck.
Google also likely gained an upper hand on traffic through several nationwide television campaigns and further Google+ integration with Google News and the Google Bar.
Google+ has also managed to grab some users who have grown tired of Facebook privacy issues and constant changes to the platform including Facebook Timeline.
Here’s the official tweet sent by Experian Hitwise:
The total US visits to Google+ increased 5% in April 2012 vs. March 2012 as the site received more than 64M total visits.
